Community guidelines

Community rules

These rules apply in the discussion spaces. A moderator can hide a post, and every post has a report button.

These are the rules. You can report a post. A moderator can hide it.

Be respectful

Disagree with ideas. Do not insult, threaten, or mock a person, including their way of communicating or their diagnosis.

No diagnosis by strangers

Do not tell someone they are or are not autistic. Do not tell them to stop or start a treatment. Peer experience is allowed. Pretending to be a clinician is not.

Protect private information

Do not post another person’s name, school, address, photos, or medical details without a clear right to do so. Be especially careful about children.

Report and escalation

Posts have a report button. Moderators can hide a post. If a post suggests someone is in immediate danger, the response is to signpost emergency or safeguarding services, not to counsel them in the thread.

Commercial posts

The shop and the community stay distinct. A support thread is not a place for an unmarked advert.

Questions about these rules can go through the contact form.

Support

Live chat

No support person is marked available right now. You can still ask, and a person will see the message. This is not an emergency service.

Accessibility

These choices stay on this device. They change the website. They do not change a guide’s meaning.
